Aperture: Research

Sharpen your focus on STEM by diving into research.

Welcome to your first glimpse of behind the scenes STEM. Be a part of research in action at CLU.

Four OC STEM students will be immersed in the world of research. You’ll be introduced to work in the lab along with participation in a series of specially designed workshops, seminars and collegial events. Topics include: responsible conduct of research, career development and innovation today.

You’ll be working and learning with a CLU faculty mentor and an upper class STEM mentor.

Become a part of this scholarly community focused on undergraduate research.

Oxnard College STEM students will be selected to participate in an 8-week summer research program at Cal Lutheran University.

This is a full-time commitment, 40 hours per week: May 29th stats boot-camp; June 3-July 24, 2019. OC students will be paired with a CLU transfer student, to be exposed to and assist in conducting STEM research.
A CLU faculty member will mentor and support both students throughout the process. Students will be paired according to their area of interest.
At the end of the 8 weeks, each pair will present their research findings. Presentations will take place on July 17th and July 24th.

Fellows will receive up to $4,000 of support. Teams/pairs may apply to receive funding for approved consumables and supplies by contacting Jennifer Lugo.
